Klaas Weima

Klaas Weima (1976) is founder and meaningful director of Energize, a creative agency for interactive brand communication. Energize consists of a team of 25 professionals, working for well-known brands such as Walt Disney, Hi, KPN, GlaxoSmithKline, Nijntje (Mercis), Univé, VGZ, Randstad and WWF, and is based in Amsterdam and Shanghai.

Klaas has been nominated for the award “online media man of the year” in both 2009 and 2010. He is Founding Partner of Online Tuesday, a monthly online marketing event held in Amsterdam. He is also content partner of industry organisation NIMA and he organizes the Social Media Expert Class and Social Media Course for them. He loves to give speeches and talks about his passion: digital marketing and brands.

In cooperation with the Erasmus University Rotterdam he conducted the first European Study on the effectiveness of web advertising. As a result, he won the eBusiness Thesis Award and the DDMA Scholarship Award.

Klaas wrote the book “Webvertising: Tools for an Effective Campaign” and was co-author of “Industry Changes caused by the Internet”, which he wrote together with Cor Molenaar. He frequently writes for renowned marketing magazines and blogs including Marketingfacts, MarketingTribune, Marketing RSLT, Emerce Magazine, MolBlog and Tijdschrift voor Marketing (Journal of Marketing). Furthermore he is a speaker and host of the podcast show SparkCast. His latest podcast can be found on iTunes.
